PhD students
Any grant-funded PhD positions will be posted here. If you are keen to join our group on a PhD scholarship, check out the following options. If either sounds like a good fit, please feel free to get in touch.
NZ students: Wellington Guaranteed Doctoral Scholarships are open to recent graduates of any New Zealand university who have achieved a GPA of at least 8.5 (based on the standard doctoral GPA calculation methods) in their prerequisite degree (Honours or Masters). More info on these scholarships can be found here:

However, very limited numbers are awarded, and these are extremely competitive. We’ve never had a student successfully funded via these scholarships (all of our international PhD students are currently grant-funded). But if you have a GPA of 8.8-9.0 it could be worth a try. Post-doctoral Research Fellows
Unfortunately, we don’t have any funded postdoc positions open at the moment. If you are keen to join our group and think you might be competitive for a fellowship (from NZ or beyond), please feel free to get in touch.
Some potential fellowship options are listed below:
Human Frontiers Science Program Postdoctoral Fellowships (for applicants outside of NZ).
EMBO Long-Term Fellowships (for applicants from Europe).
Life Sciences Research Foundation (US citizens can take the fellowship to any country).
